Asiad medalist Bimala honored with US$ 1,000

KATHMANDU, April 4: The US Nepal Sports and Culture Inc honored Bimala Tamang, the solo medalist of the 17th Asian Games, with USD 1,000 on Friday. Man Mohan Waiba, vice-president of the organization, handed over the amount while Constituent Assembly Member Mohan Kumar Rai gave away letter of appreciation to Bimala amid a function in Kathmandu.

Bimala had won the only medal for Nepal during the Asian Games held in Incheon of South Korea last year. She bagged bronze medal in the kata section of karate.


 

The organization, which was established in 2007, has been supporting Nepali players financially.
