1990 statute also good: Deuba

BIRATNAGAR, March 11: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday argued in favor of the revival of the 1990 constitution with certain amendments that would reflect the changed political scenario in the country.



He argued that the 1990 constitution could be revived by ensuring republic, federalism, inclusiveness and secularism. [break]



 Speaking at a press meet in Biratnagar, Deuba said, “The 1990 constitution is also good. We should better adopt the 1990 constitution by ensuring republic, federalism and secularism.”



Deuba argued that the Maoists´ unwillingness to conclude the peace process has delayed the constitution writing process.
