KATHMANDU, June 14: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Thailand has announced annual scholarships worth Rs 3,589,999 for disadvantaged 80 Nepali students.


At a function organized on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Gopal Man Shrestha inaugurated the Civil Scholarship Fund started by the NRNA-Thailand.

The scholarship will be focused on earthquake victim children for the first five years.


Speaking at a function Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha stressed that the fund would help Nepali students gain better education and technical experience.


At the function, it was also informed that 40 foreign engineering trainees from 23 countries and 30 other students are all set to be deployed for one month as volunteers in Laprak, an epicenter of the April 2015 earthquake.
