KATHMANDU, August 10: Chairman of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has said that the projects of national pride should be completed within the stipulated time.
Speaking at a meeting of the National Concern and Coordination Committee on Wednesday, he said that the country had to be deprived of the benefits as the projects of national pride were not completed on time. He said that since the work of the Melamchi project has not been completed yet, many have been deprived of the health benefits due to water.
Expectations from the New Government!
Chairman Timilsina said that when a project is delayed, its cost increases and the government finds it difficult to cope with the increasing cost of such large projects, and hence, the works should be completed on time. He said that the government has not been able to implement the plan and it is necessary to correct it and move forward. He said that while talking about national pride, projects of national pride should have a certain definition, certain meaning and importance. He said that any project should not be declared as a project of national pride just because it is chosen by the prime minister, finance minister or other ministers and leaders of the government.
Chairman Timilsina said that the committee should step up monitoring to ensure if the projects of national pride are being completed on time or not.
