KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Japan’s Taiyo Hirano and Taisei Kageyama have advanced into the boys’ singles semifinals in the ongoing Nepal ITF Junior U-18 Circuit One Tennis Tournament on Thursday.
At the Satdobato Tennis Complex, Hirano defeated India’s Naithaolin Calvin Golmei 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, while Kageyama beat Jaishvin Sidana 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 to reach the last four.

Pravin Bagade of India 7-5, 6-2, while China Taipei’s Chia-Fan Tsao overcame India’s Vansh Bhagtani 6-2, 6-2.

Similarly, Japan’s Kanon Yasumoto and the United States’ Rutuja Chaphalkar also booked their semifinal tickets in the matches played on Thursday.
Yasumoto beat India’s Srinidhi Sridhar 7-6 (5), 6-0, while Chaphalkar saw off Japan’s Manami Ukita 6-1, 6-1.
Similarly, in the other matches of the same category, India’s Divya Vaani thumped Hong Kong’s Chui Kei Leung 7-5, 6-3, while China’s Yiming Dang defeated India’s Prinkle Singh 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to reach the last four.
Meanwhile, the Chinese pair of Wenmao Li and Yangxuan Li has made their way into the final of the boys’ doubles.
The pair beat Japan’s Daisuke Inagawa and Taisei Kageyama 6-3, 6-4.In other matches of the same category, the pair of Japan’s Taiyo Hirano and Chinese Taipei’s Chia-Fan Tsao defeated the Indian pair of Vansh Bhagtani and Jaishvin Sidana 6-2, 6-2.
Also, in the girls’ doubles, the Indian pair of Smriti Bhasin and Hrudaya Shah advanced into the final. Bhasin and Shah saw off India’s Ashpreet Kaur Bajwa and Punyatoya Mohapatra 7-5, 7-5, while the pair of Hong Kong’s Chui Kei Leung and India’s Sanya Singh beat the Japanese pair of Ayumi Hama and Kanon Yasumoto 6-1, 3-6 (10-7).
