Shiva Narayan Chaudhary, 23, of Bhawanipur-9, Rabin Chaudhary, 23, and Dambar Sharma, 23, of Sishwani-1 were killed after their motorcycles (Sa 2 Pa 8725) and (Sa 3 Pa 1355) rammed into a stationary truck.
They died all on the spot, according to Kul Prasad Chaudhary, chief of district traffic police office, Siraha.
Two others, who were also on the motorbikes, were injured in the incident.
Over-speeding was the cause of the accident, police said. They were all returning home after having New Year celebrations.
Police have impounded the truck and detained its driver.
