KATHMANDU, Feb 19: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday appointed Rajesh Jha from Rautahat district as the Province 2 governor.

Jha was appointed the new governor of Province 2 as per the Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, according to the Office of the President.
Earlier today, the president relieved Tilak Pariyar of his duty as province chief. Pariyar is a leader close to the Dahal-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.
