How migraines could be prevented by flipping electrical signals in the brain

July 5: For some migraine sufferers, the pain is preceded by visual artefacts called aura, which can include seeing wavy lines, flashes of light or blind spots. These are triggered by a wave of electrical activity in the brain, and now researchers at Penn State University have found a way to counter and slow the spread of those signals, which could be the first step towards preventing or lessening migraines before they take hold.
25 million child marriages prevented in last decade due to accelerated progress: UNICEF

NEW YORK, Mar 6: The prevalence of child marriage is decreasing globally with several countries seeing significant reductions in recent years, UNICEF said today. Overall, the proportion of women who were married as children decreased by 15 percent in the last decade, from 1 in 4 to approximately 1 in 5.
