KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Twenty-six percent of reconstruction work of Dharahara has been completed so far. According to National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), the construction company GIETC-RAMAN JV gave the details during a progress review.

KATHMANDU, May 29: The contractors building the Dharahara tower, which was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, have informed that the work on the raft foundation of the new tower has been started.  A raft foundation, also called a mat foundation, is a continuous slab resting on the soil that extends over the entire footprint of the building.

The scare was such that she had an asthma attack and had to be taken to Bir Hospital and there she witnessed the real horror of what had actually happened. She was traumatized by this experience and found it hard to cope. That’s when doodling came into her life as a savior.

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: News that Dharahara had collapsed during the earthquake of April 25, 2015 came as a shock to every Nepali around the world. In the years that followed, when shock finally gave way to talks of the inevitable rebuilding of the monument, people’s opinions were divided on whether the Dharahara should be reconstructed. Today, if you go to Sundhara in Kathmandu where the mighty Dharahara stood previously, you will find that the area has been cordoned off and the process of reconstruction is in full swing, rekindling the debate among whispers and murmurs.
