The government of Nepal has declared the decade of 2024-34 as the decade of information technology. The government has an ambitious target of  generating employment for 1.5 million people directly and indirectly and export IT services worth NPR 3 trillion in ten years. Nepal earned  NPR 67 billion  by exporting ICT enabled services in 2022, according to government figures.

RASUWA, Sept 2: Compared to last year, the Rasuwa Customs Office's revenue increased by Rs 500 in the month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August) of the current fiscal year. According to Chief Customs Officer Ram Prasad Pathak, Rs 1.54 billion in revenue was collected in Shrawan, the first month of the fiscal year 2024/25, from import duties.
