The five people, who were arrested in connection with hatching a plot to abduct and murder a foreign employment businessman, has been made public amidst a press conference by the district police office on Sunday.The arrestees are Prem Rokka Magar, 26, of Uwa VDC-4, Bishal Gartimagar, 30, of Tulsipur Municipality-4, Prem Tamang, 19 of Melamchi Municipality-4, Mayank Shah, 21, of Hasandapur VDC-4 and Min Bahdur Rana, 22 of Kotthar VDC-3 of Nawalparasi district.
Police confiscated pistol, bullets and a taxi, Na 1 Ja 3070, from them.
Police Inspector Sataya Narayan Thapa-led team at Narayanghat ward police office arrested them. According to Chitwan disitrict police chief, SP Sahakul Bahadur Thapa, they are set to file a criminal case against them seeking a jail term of 3 to 5 years and a fine of Rs 60,000 to 100,000 to each.
According to police, the gang of five people was conspiring to abduct a man who had reportedly cheated two of the arrestees—Prem and Bishal-- while sending them to South Africa for employment.
Speaking to the journalists during the press conference, they informed that the duo was allegedly smuggled to South Africa through Zimbabwe last year. The duo, who had only acquired tourist visas for Zimbabwe, was smuggled to South Africa through Zimbabwe-South Africa border. Later on they were arrested in South Africa and consequently deported to Nepal.
The arrestees further informed that they paid Rs 900,000 each to the person to go to South Africa. Police however, yet to disclose the identity of the foreign employment business man arguing that they are yet to complete the investigation into the case.
