NCP leader Yogesh Bhattarai takes oath of office as tourism minister

KATHMANDU, July 31: Newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai took oaths of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.


President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Bhattarai amid a special program held at Sheetal Niwas. Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other dignitaries and officials were present at the program.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Oli appointed Bhattarai to the post left vacant following the death of the then minister Rabindra Adhikari in a helicopter crash. PM Oli had been holding the portfolio.


Bhattarai is an elected member of the House of Representatives from Taplejung.


Bhattarai, who started his political career as a student leader, is currently the publicity department chief of his party.
