KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The writ petition filed by Hikmat Kumar Karki, a member of Koshi Provincial Assembly from the CPN-UML, against the Koshi government, has been scheduled for hearing today. The preliminary hearing on the writ petition will be conducted by the bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada.
As the writ petition was registered in the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday, the hearing was fixed for today. A preliminary hearing on the writ petition will be held today and an order will be passed on whether or not to issue an interim order. UML Koshi Provincial Assembly member Karki filed a writ petition in the SC demanding a mandamus and stated that even the Acting Speaker of the Koshi Provincial Assembly gave a vote of confidence to the chief minister which violates the Constitution and the order of the Supreme Court.
