KATHMANDU, March 7: Writ petitions were filed at the Supreme Court (SC) against the Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday. The preliminary hearing on the petitions will take place on March 9.
After the SC ordered its administration to register the petitions against PM Dahal on Friday, Gyanendra Raj Aran and Kalyan Budhathoki registered their petitions today.
PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal, while speaking at a public function in Kathmandu on January 15, 2020, had said that he would take the responsibility for the 5,000 people who were killed by CPN-Maoist during the conflict.
As a result, two petitions were filed today against PM Dahal. These petitions hold him responsible for the loss of life, damage, and destruction that occurred during the decade-long Maoist insurgency. They demand his immediate arrest and a thorough investigation into the severe charges brought against him.
