KATHMANDU, Dec 28: A writ petition has been registered at Supreme Court demanding immediate endorsement of the National Assembly ordinance.
Advocate Yagya Mani Neupane has filed the writ in the apex court on Thursday for the immediate authentication of the ordinance which has been on hold since two months at the President’s office.
In the writ, the prosecutor has also demanded to halt the process of electing Prime Minister and not to release the final election result under Proportional Representation prior to the endorsement of the ordinance. The petitioner has also asked the apex court to pave for ending the current political deadlock through the constitution.
The Office of President, the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Election Commission, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have been mentioned defendants in this case. The date for a preliminary hearing on the writ has been fixed for Friday.
