KATHMANDU, April 20: The writ seeking to stop the election of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) until the controversy over FNJ Kathmandu branch election was resolved has been quashed.

A single bench of Justice Mohan Prakash Sitaula quashed the writ filed by journalists Rakesh and Purna Karki.

The writ was filed at the Supreme Court seeking to stop the FNJ election arguing that the FNJ Kathmandu branch’s election was illegal.

The writ had named the government; the Ministry of Home Affairs; the District Administration Office, Kathmandu; the FNJ Kathmandu branch and the FNJ Central Office as defendants.
