PARSA, April 22: Police have arrested a man, who was on the run after being convicted of trafficking two women 32 years ago. Bishnu Bahadur Thapa, 57, of Thori, Parsa district, who was convicted of selling two women to a brothel in Mumbai, India, was arrested on Thursday.

Thapa was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rs 25,000 by the Parsa District Court on 27 March, 2005. He was absconding after the incident. A complaint was lodged with the police that Thapa had sold two women to a brothel in Mumbai, India on 3 September, 1989.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Om Prakash Khanal, a team of District Police Office, Parsa, arrested Thapa while he was hiding in Katari Municipality-3 of Udayapur. A case has been registered against Thapa and he has been produced before the district court in Parsa.
