KATHMANDU, July 20; Worldwide Nepalese Students' Organization-Bangladesh (WNSO-Bangladesh) has condemned the 'senseless and unethical' statement made recently by Durga Prasain, the executive director of Jhapa-based controversial B&C Hospital.

The condemnation by WNSO-Bangladesh came after Prasain in a video, which has lately gone viral on the internet, has called into question the moral character of Nepali girl students studying medicine in Bangladesh. “The statement made by him has not only hurt the sentiments of the students and their parents, but also called into question their moral character, and this is intolerable,” the WNSO-Bangladesh said in a statement on Friday.

The student organization has also challenged Prasain to prove his allegations or issue a public apology.

The WNSO-Bangladesh said they assure everyone concerned that there had not been any such incidence to their knowledge so far. “The duration of MBBS course in Bangladesh is six years, which may vary only based on the potential, attendance and academic performance of a student and not based on their gender or any other personal agenda from the staffs as false stated by Mr Prasain,” added the statement.
