KATHMANDU, June 7: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government bodies concerned to grant affiliation to B&C Medical College owned by Durga Prasain in Jhapa within 15 days.
A joint bench of Justices Kumar Chudal and Saranga Subedi overturned the decision of the Medical Education Commission from March 25, 2020, which had denied affiliation to the college. The court instructed the college to fulfill the necessary criteria within 15 days.

The full text of the decision made by the joint bench on March 25 orders the defendants concerned to grant the affiliation within 15 days before the start of this year's academic session to run MBBS programs, asking the B & C Medical College to ensure management of faculty as well as complete the requirements set by the inspection team.
The bench has concluded that a mandamus is deemed necessary in the name of the defendants, including Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Kavre, Medical Education Commission, Sanothimi Bhaktapur, and others, to provide the college with the opportunity to enroll students in the MBBS program.
