KATHMANDU, March 13: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has challenged former Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat to prove immediately the allegation that PM Dahal tried to distribute money arbitrarily in the cabinet.

While seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, Dahal dared Mahat to prove the allegations.

Prakash Sharan Mahat has given a statement that PM Dahal wanted to spend money but I refrained from providing them. “I want to challenge you to confirm where and for what purpose I had asked for money," said Prime Minister Dahal.

In a press conference held at the party office on Tuesday, Mahat expressed that the Prime Minister wanted to distribute money arbitrarily but because Mahat intervened it, PM Dahal changed the power equation.

The Prime Minister said he needed a vote of confidence to improve the business environment in the economy. He claimed that thousands of start-ups and entrepreneurship will be launched within a few months and said that policy reforms will be implemented to end slow credit flow, decline in middle class consumption and low capital expenditure.

He said that his commitment to catalyze transformative change has created a new equation and he will step down if he cannot work. The determination to do groundbreaking work led me to a new equation. You will witness this in my work. If I can't prove it, the post of Prime Minister will be meaningless for me," he said.
