KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Certain regions of Nepal will experience the impact of the cyclone named 'Michaung,' causing an increase in wind speed particularly in Madhesh and Koshi provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The MFD reported that the current weather conditions in Nepal exhibit the partial influence of the westerly wind and the presence of cyclone Michaung near Andhra Pradesh, India.
As a result of cyclone Michaung, the wind speed is expected to escalate in Madhesh and Koshi provinces today, potentially impacting air travel, as per MFD officials.

Presently, Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, and the mountainous regions of the country are experiencing partly cloudy to normal weather, while the rest of the nation is generally clear.
This afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces may witness partial to normal rainfall, while the weather will remain generally clear in other parts of the country. MFD officials have mentioned the possibility of light rain in a few locations in Koshi Province and slight snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous areas of the region.
Tonight, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to have partly cloudy weather, with the rest of the country remaining generally clear. There is a chance of light rain in a few areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with the possibility of light snowfall in certain high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province.
MFD officials are advising the public to take necessary precautions, considering the likelihood of light rain in specific areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, potential light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, and a potential drop in temperatures nationwide.
