Wilson defeated Greenland Children Academy by four wickets while Galaxy beat Brihaspati Vidyasadan by one wicket.
Batting first, Greenland were all out for 72 runs in 18.5 overs while Wilson met the target in 16 overs losing 6 wickets. Likewise, Brihaspati put up 82 runs losing seven wickets in limited 20 overs. In reply, Galaxy met the target in 18.2 overs at the loss of nine wickets.
Wins for Anmol Jyoti, TIA in basketball
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The girls´ teams of Anmol Jyoti and hosts Tungram International Academy (TIA) ´A´ emerged victorious in Monday´s matches of the Seventh TIA Akira Cup Basketball Championship on Monday.
Anmol Jyoti defeated Manjari 6-5 while TIA thrashed Valley Public 37-17. TIA´s Anusha Malla contributed 22 points.
In the boys´ matches, EPS, Paragon, Daffodil, Golden Peak and Grand Academy won their respective matches.
EPS ousted Himalayan 30-16 while Paragon struggled past Triyog 35-32. Daffodil secured an easy win of 38-12 over Manjari. Golden Peak defeated Greenland by a thin margin of 50-46 while Grand Academy edged past Anmol Jyoti 52-27.
FECA Cup Football
KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The fourth edition of the FECA Cup Football Tournament, an inter-school football tournament, is all set to begin on Friday at Pepsicola football ground, Bhaktapur. Fair Educational Competitors´ Association (FECA) is organizing the tournament.
Altogether 15 teams are participating in the tournament to be held in knockout system. Two matches will be held every day and the players up to only grade nine will be eligible to participate in the tournament, stated FECA President Rameshwar Dahal.
Nexus Academy are the defending champions of the tournament expected to cost around Rs 196,000.
FECA is the institution of private schools of Gothatar-Koteshwor area established to increase coordination and harmony among them.
