KATHMANDU, Oct 8: The influence of westerly winds has been observed in many areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and the western parts of Lumbini, as well as in some western regions of Gandaki Province. Meanwhile, the impact of local and monsoon winds in the rest of the country has weakened, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining Tarai regions will see partly cloudy skies. The MFD says that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at one or two places in the remaining provinces.
By tonight, partly cloudy conditions are likely in the hilly regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, while the rest of the country will experience mainly clear weather. Light rainfall is possible at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, MFD reports.
