KATHMANDU, Feb 19: There is a possibility of snowfall accompanied by light rain in various regions of the country today. The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that this is due to the influence of westerly winds currently affecting Nepal.

The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly regions, including in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, light rain may occur at a few places in Sudurpaschim Province and in one or two areas in other hilly areas of the country. There is also a chance of light snowfall in several high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, the forecast predicts partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions in the hilly regions, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Similarly, light to moderate rain may occur in a few areas of the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, as well as in Lumbini Province.

Light to moderate snowfall is also expected in some high hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, along with the high mountains in Gandaki Province.
