KATHMANDU, Jan 31: There is a possibility of light rain in the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces of the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently an influence of westerly winds in Nepal.

According to the meteorological bulletin published by the MFD earlier at 6AM, the weather is expected to be mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country and cloudy and foggy in some parts of the country's plains.

According to MFD officials, the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain mostly clear, while other areas will be partly cloudy. There's a chance of light rain in some places in these provinces and a few places in the rest of the hilly areas. Additionally, light to moderate snowfall is expected in some places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and a few places in the remaining high hills and mountain areas.

The weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining areas will be partly cloudy. According to the MFD, there is a possibility of light rain in some places of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, a few places in Lumbini and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the rest of the hilly areas.There is a possibility of light rain in a few places. Similarly, there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in many places of the high hilly and mountainous terrains of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces as well as in few places of the remaining high hilly and mountainous terrains.

On Thursday afternoon, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim regions will remain mostly cloudy, while other regions will experience partial showers. Light rain is likely in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, a few places in Lumbini and Gandaki provinces, and one or two places in the rest of the hilly areas. Light to moderate snowfall is anticipated in some places in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces and a few places in the remaining high hilly and mountainous areas.

The weather will be mostly clear in hilly areas, including Koshi, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas will be partly cloudy at night. Light rain is possible in one or two parts of the country, and there's a chance of light snowfall at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous areas.

On Friday afternoon, partly to mostly cloudy weather will be experienced in the hilly areas of the country including Koshi Province, the weather will be mainly clear in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. There is a possibility of light snowfall in a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi province and one or two places in the rest of the high hills and mountainous areas.

Similarly, at night, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali regions while the weather will be mostly clear in the remaining areas. There is a possibility of light to heavy rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi province. There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
