Rainfall and snow likely in some parts of the country

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: There is a chance of snowfall along with rain at one or two places across the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is currently a partial influence of the westerly low-pressure system over Nepal.

According to the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD earlier at 6 am, the sky is currently partly to mostly cloudy nationwide.

The MFD forecasts mostly clear weather conditions in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with other areas expected to see mostly clear skies.

Similarly, there is a possibility of sporadic to light rain at one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. The MFD has also said that there is a possibility of light snowfall at a few places of high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and one or two places of the remaining high hilly and mountainous areas.

According to the MFD, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country tonight. Gandaki, Karnali and one or two places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim Province are likely to receive sporadic to light rain. There is a chance of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of the country.

On Wednesday afternoon, the hilly areas are likely to experience mostly clear conditions, while the remaining regions could see partly cloudy skies with a possibility of light snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

During the night, hilly areas may observe mostly clear skies, with the remaining regions experiencing partly cloudy conditions.

Similarly, on Thursday afternoon, mostly clear skies are anticipated in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while other areas may see partly cloudy conditions.

At night, hilly areas, including Sudurpaschim Province are expected to remain mostly clear, while other regions may experience clear to partly cloudy skies.
