Voting halted in Tilathi Koilari of Saptari

SAPTARI, September 18: Voting has been obstructed at Rastriya Primary School polling center of Tilathi Koilari Rural Municipality of the district.



The voting was halted since 2.30 this afternoon following the discussion erupted as it was found that the voters cast their votes without valid signature of the election officer of the center.

According to the election officer Ramesh Kumar Mandal, he had signed one bundle of 10-ballot papers. After the completion of the bundle, assistant poll officer gave four ballot papers to the voters without his signature. It was later realized that the voters were casting votes without the signature.


The argument was heated as officials could not finalize whether to valid those four ballot papers or not. The discussions continue in the area as the parties were for and against to valid the ballot papers.
