KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Due to a dense fog in Kathmandu, visibility has decreased. After the visibility dropped to 100 meters, flights could not be operated at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday.
Normally, visibility of 3,000 meters is required for flights, but the planes could not land after it dropped to 100 meters.
Low visibility affects flights at TIA
According to the TIA Terminal Office, domestic and international flights could not be operated due to low visibility. According to the terminal office, two Jazeera Airways planes from Kuwait were kept on hold in the sky over Simara.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, it has been foggy across the country since Friday morning. The western low pressure system and the influence of the low pressure area around the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India have also caused fog in the Nepali sky.
