KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Numerous people from various districts have gone missing or lost contact with their families following the Bhotekoshi flash flood in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.
Bara district has reported 15 people missing following the devastating flood. Families of those missing have contacted the district authorities, according to Bara Chief District Officer Chhabi Raman Bhattarai. Some of the missing had gone to Rasuwa for work, while others had travelled there for different purposes.
A total of 79 people from Dhading have also gone missing, with no information about their whereabouts so far. Nilkantha Municipality alone has reported 23 people missing in the flash flood.

Seven people from Gulmi have gone missing in the disaster.
Khotang district has also made public the names and number of its residents who have been out of contact since the flood. According to the District Police Office, Khotang, some had travelled to Rasuwa for employment, while others had gone there for business. Some had also travelled to districts adjoining Rasuwa for work.
Similarly, Saptari district has reported 24 people missing. Three members of the same family from Bodebarsain Municipality-8 have been out of contact with their family since the disaster.
So far, 55 people from Gorkha have been reported missing. Most of them are from Palungtar Municipality, which has reported 31 missing people, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma.
