The meeting scheduled for 4:00 pm was postponed after the standing committee members close to senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidhya did not arrive until 5:30 pm. [break]
Party spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said the meeting could not take place formally due to the absence of leaders including Mohan Vaidya.
He said Sunday´s meeting was likely to hold discussions on matters relating to the peace process and added that the next meeting would take a decision over the issue.
Sharma said preparation is underway to give responsibility to the technical committee by forging political consensus on peace process and constitution writing.
Earlier, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai among other standing committee members had reached the party headquarters to attend the standing committee meeting.
