US envoy DeLisi calls on PM

KATHMANDU, April 25: US Ambassador to Nepal Scot H. DeLisi called on Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal at the latter´s office on Monday.



According to the prime minister´s foreign relation advisor Milan Tuladhar, DeLisi briefed the prime minister about the success of the recently meeting in Washington DC on disaster management and hailed the role played by Nepal. [break]



He mentioned that the process for reinstating Peace Corps in Nepal is moving on well and an assessment team will soon arrive in Nepal for the same.



He reaffirmed US Government´s continued support to the peace process and highly appreciated the efforts made by the present government.



Prime Minister Khanal apprised the envoy on the latest political situation of the country and said his government is determined to conclude peace and constitution process smoothly through consensus among major parties.
