US Embassy supports e-course on understanding and countering mis/dis information

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The US Embassy partnered with Youth Innovation Lab to host mis/disinformation workshops in all seven provinces, and now the free e-course “Understanding and Countering Mis/Dis Information” is available to the public.

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The US Embassy partnered with Youth Innovation Lab to host mis/disinformation workshops in all seven provinces, and now the free e-course “Understanding and Countering Mis/Dis Information” is available to the public. 


The workshops focused on training a diverse group, including people from marginalized communities, more than 140 journalists, content creators, activists, and influencers to identify and address the challenges posed by mis- and disinformation in the digital age.

The workshops and e-course intend to empower individuals to make informed decisions and recognize mis and disinformation online.


The online course “Understanding and Combating Mis/Dis Information” is now accessible to the public through Shikshya.org, officially launched by Garrett E Wilkerson, public affairs chief, the US Embassy in Nepal, and Pradip Khatiwada, Youth Innovation Lab.


The platform Shikshya.org, developed and designed, comprises a user-friendly interface consisting of video content, graphical representations, quizzes, and other educational materials contributed by experts, ensuring a rich and engaging learning experience.
