"I always disliked the working style of ANFA though I myself was in the executive committee. Three Star had presented false birth certificates of five of their players but there was no hearing regarding this in ANFA. Hence I decided to resign," Upadhya said.
Three Star had defeated Bansbari in sudden death in one of the semifinal of the junior league on Tuesday. Bansbari had filed a complaint soon after that. Bansbari have presented birth certificates and other proofs on Thursday as they couldn´t collect documents on Wednesday due to closure of government offices.
"However, Dhirendra Pradhan, the general secretary of ANFA said that we produced false documents without conducting any inquiry," Upadhya said adding," I have challenged them to conduct an inquiry and if I am found guilty I am ready to face action. However, his reply was ambiguous. "
ANFA General Secretary Pradhan said that any such complaints aren´t taken as valid unless evidence are furnished within an hour of match completion. "We cannot stop a match if evidence of any wrong doing is brought just before the match begins."
He however, said that they would punish Three Star if it is proved to have fielded over-age players. "We will inquire regarding player´s age with the municipality."
