KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Calls for the removal of Pankaj Bikram Nembang, president of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), and General Secretary Kiran Rai are intensifying. As many as 49 member associations and affiliated clubs within ANFA jointly submitted a formal petition for their dismissal.

These member associations have invoked Article 36 (3) of the ANFA Statute, which permits them to request a special general meeting with the support of 40 percent of ANFA members. By collecting the requisite signatures, they have formally made this request.

The petitioners allege that both the ANFA President and General Secretary have been actively engaged in actions detrimental to Nepali football. They accuse them of undermining the future prospects of Nepali football during their tenure in office, which has prompted this demand for their removal.
