Unidentified vandals try to set fire to an election candidate's car in Madi

CHITWAN, Nov 17: An attempt has been made to set fire to a vehicle used by Thakur Prasad Dhakal, a candidate for the Province  Assembly from Chitwan Electoral Constituency No. 3 (2).

CHITWAN, Nov 17: An attempt has been made to set fire to a vehicle used by Thakur Prasad Dhakal, a candidate for the Province  Assembly from Chitwan Electoral Constituency No. 3 (2).


Spokesman for the District Police Office, Chitwan, Vijay Raj Pandit said that an attempt was made to set fire to the Scorpio jeep (Bagmati Province 06-001 - 0001), which is being used for election campaigning.


According to him, 2 unknown youths who came on a motorcycle wearing masks, sprayed petrol and set it on fire at 6 o'clock this morning. It has been said that the fire was extinguished by the water pump connected to the house as soon as the fire was discovered. There was no damage to the vehicle. 


However, Pandit said that further investigation is yet to be carried out. The police have reached the spot and are investigating. The guilty will be found and action will be taken, he added.
