UML registers party at EC for province, federal polls

KATHMANDU, Aug. 25: Main opposition CPN-UML has registered the party at the Election Commission for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and to the Province Assembly.

KATHMANDU, Aug. 25: Main opposition CPN-UML has registered the party at the Election Commission for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and to the Province Assembly. 


A team led by party Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam registered the party at the EC after submitting required legal documents on Friday.

The EC has given the deadline of 27 August for the political parties to get registered. 

The EC said that so far 44 political parties have been registered. 


On the occasion, Vice-Chairman Gautam-led team also held discussions with Chief Election Commissioner and other commissioners regarding the September 18 polls to be held in the Province No. 2 as well as the upcoming Federal and Province level polls announced for November 26. 


After the discussions, leader Gautam told journalists that the UML was ready to fully cooperate with all to pass the election bill. 


On the occasion, Gautam added that no force could corner the UML and those attempting so would be boycotted from the people. RSS
