KATHMANDU, May 18: CPN-UML mayoral candidate Bidhyasundar Shakya is taking the lead in the race for the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis with 5337 votes, compared to 3022 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Raju Raj Joshi. Shyakya is leading Joshi by 2315 votes.
Ranju Dharshna representing Bibekshil Nepali Party is in the third position with 2328 votes, compared to 1603 votes garnered by Kishor Thapa representing Sajha Party who is in the fourth position.
