KATHMANDU, May 18: UML mayoral candidate Bidhyasundar Shakya is taking the lead in the race for the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis with 4317 votes, compared to 2472 votes for his closest rival Nepali Congress mayoral candidate Raju Raj Joshi. Shyakya is leading Joshi by 1845 votes.
Ranju Dharshna representing Bibekshil Nepali Party is in the third position with 1877 votes, compared to 1226 votes garnered by Kishor Thapa representing Sajha Party who is in the fourth position.
