KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The CPN-UML leader Surya Thapa has alleged that Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Omprakash Aryal do not want elections to be held. He made this claim in response to what he called an illegal order to arrest leaders, including former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

“Prime Minister Sushila Karki and Home Minister Omprakash Aryal are not the kind of people who would conduct elections. Their entire record shows a fear of elections,” Thapa wrote on social media. “If they truly wanted elections, they would not have issued illegal orders to arrest leaders, including former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. In a democracy, mob rule is unacceptable.”

He further noted that four security chiefs have already canceled their wrongful orders and said that the illegal orders will also face judicial challenge, review, and annulment.
