BIRATNAGAR, Sept 6: CPN-UML senior leader KP Sharma Oli has indicated that the party´s politburo meeting to be held Thursday could change the ´neutral´ position of the party. Claiming that the country will get a new prime minister within two to four days, he said that the meeting will take necessary decision on the matter.

“I want to assure everyone that a solution will emerge in 2-4 days. The candidate who we support will win the election,” Oli told reporters at Biratnagar airport on Monday, adding, “Tie-breaker and penalties happen at last moments. We must give time to the players till then.” [break]

He claimed that the politburo meeting will end the deadlock facing prime ministerial election. He said UML will remove the obstacle and resolve the problem. But, he added, that no one should run after the prime minister´s position.

He said that the seventh round of voting will not be able to elect a new prime minister. He said that UML does not have enough time to review its position as the seventh round was announced too soon. “There is no time to prepare as the new date was announced in a hurry,” Sharma said.

Oli, who came to attend a function organized by Krishna Prasad Sigdel Memorial Foundation, also requested Minister for Land Reforms Dambar Narayan Shrestha, who is from CPN-UML, not to vote for Pushpa Kamal Dahal during Tuesday´s vote.
