According to his personal secretary Ram Babu Adhikari, Khanal was admitted to the hospital after he was diagnosed with the problem during a routine check-up. He had been suffering from kidney stone for the past several months.
A team of uro-surgeons comprising Dr Suman Sharma and Dr Rajesh Bataju and Dr Ashuman Agrawal from the New Delhi-based Apollo Hospital carried out the treatment through laser technology.
Khanal was discharged on Saturday and has been advised to take rest for a few days. Khanal had undergone surgery of his prostrate gland in the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi in March.
