Two swindlers at large taking Rs. 60,000

CHITWAN, May 2: Two people have been at large with an amount of Rs. 600,000 assuring some youths that they would recruit them in army during selection process conducted by the Nepali Army.



Shanta Nepali of Kohalpur and one calling himself Nepal Army Major fled by taking Rs. 75,000 each from eight youths for recruiting them at the Shumsher Dal Battalion, Bharatpur. [break]



They had demanded Rs. 150, 000 each by giving them a fake entry card for the selection process and took Rs. 75,000 in the first installment, said Bhupin Sharma of Kohalpur.



They fled by taking the money from Bhupin Sharma, Amit Singh and his friends from Jatana Hotel and Gaurav Guest House at the Central Bus Terminal of Bharatpur on April 27.



They were to participate in the selection after fake paper was given to Sharma, said Battalion Commander Jyotindra Mahat.



They ran away by breaking the Guesthouse window at 3:00 in the morning.

Husband of Shanta, Thakur Nepali is working in Nepal Army in Dhading and the youth called Major is not identified.



Battalion Commander Mahato said search is on for them.



Recruitment in Nepal Army is underway across the country. Altogether 1,300 applications are filed for 125 posts of personnel at Shumsher Dal.
