The dead body of the unidentified woman who died from drowning has been kept at Bharatpur Hospital, where she was taken for treatmant.

Meanwhile, Ful Maya Gurung, 50, of Bharatpur-12, who tripped off the tractor while going to Devghat Saturday and fell on the road, died while being taken for treatment.

People from Chitwan, Tanahun, Nawalparasi and other districts flock the holy confluence of Trishuli and Kaligandaki at Devghat on the occassion of Makar Sankranti. Devghat Area Development Committee said around 500,000 persons have visited Devghat till Sunday.

Pilgrims from across the country and India visit Devghat to take the holy dip with the belief that taking a dip at the confluence of Trishuli flowing from Gosainkunda and Kaligandaki is very auspicious.

There were enough boats for pilgrims to board to cross the Trishuli river to reach the confluence. The authorities, alert about the poor condition of the suspension bridge over Trishuli, did not allow more than 100 persons on it at a time to avert any accident.
