Two pilgrims killed in road mishap

TAPLEJUNG, Oct 9: Two pilgrims died when a jeep carrying pilgrims returning from Pathivara Temple met with an accident along Bhalugaude-Suketar Pathivara road section today.

TAPLEJUNG, Oct 9: Two pilgrims died when a jeep carrying pilgrims returning from Pathivara Temple met with an accident along Bhalugaude-Suketar Pathivara road section today.

The deceased have been identified as Anita Thapa Ghimire, 24, of Urlabari-4 and Homraj Ghimire, 30. 

The accident took place when the jeep (Me 1 Ja 1308) fell some 200 metres off the road due to brake failure. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Bahadur Basnet, said that Anita died on the spot in the incident while Homraj died in course of treatment at District Hospital, Taplejung. 


Similarly, Anil Jung Thapa, 20, of Urlabari-4, Dilip Ghimire, 26, and jeep driver Amit Shrestha of Ilam were injured in the accident. The injured are receiving treatment at the District Hospital.(RSS)
