MAHOTTARI, June 27: Police arrested two armed-persons today in wee hours from Shreepur-7 at Gaushala, Mahottari who later were revealed as dacoits.
The arrested are Wakil Shah, 41, of Shreepur-2 in the district and Anwarul Haq, 30, of Sitamadi district in India, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari.
The investigation has unveiled that the two were involved in several incidents of robbery. The arrested duo were also learnt to have looted Rs 55,00 in cash and two set of mobile phones and a golden jeweler pierce and were fleeing when police on patrol took them under their control.
Further investigation into the case was underway, police said.
Also, the security bodies in Mahottari district have been instructed to keep special vigil across the VDCs bordering India where the likeliness of occurrence of such incidents is relatively higher due to open border with India. RSS
