The RIT led by Sub-Inspector Keshav Joshi arrested 34-year-old Padam Thagunna with 15 kg of leopard bones and three pieces of leopard skin from Jhalari Peepaladi municipality-7 on Monday morning.Following the statement of the arrested Thagunna, police also arrested Nar Bahadur Bista, 57, of Shantipur, Superintendent of Police (SP) Tulasi Adhikari informed.
Organizing a press meet on Monday afternoon, the police made the arrested and leopard parts public.
In the press meet, Bista claimed that he was not involved in the illegal trade of the endangered wild animal's parts while another arrested Thagunna accused Bista of luring him for transporting the seized parts of leopard to Pipal Chautara.
According to SP Adhikari, the arrested and seized animal parts have been handed over to district forest office, Kanchanpur.
