Two die in separate road mishaps

RAUTAHAT, Dec 10: Two persons died in separate road mishaps in Rautahat and Bara districts on Wednesday.

Sonam Bal, 32, of Dhimal-9 of Makwanpur district died on the spot when his motorcycle crashed with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in Chandrapur Municipality-6 of Rautahat district along the East-West Highway. Pillion rider Chandra Man Shyangtan, 32, sustained severe injuries. He was treated in Chandranigahapur Hospital and has been sent to Bharatpur for further treatment, according to Area Police Office of Chandranigahapur.

Similarly, one died in road mishap when a motorcycle (Na 2 Pa 6099) and pickup jeep (Ba 10 Cha 2063) collided with each-other in Gadimai Municipality-3 of Bara district on the same day. The motorcycle rider - Ramesh Shah, 35, of Rampurtokani-3 of the district died while undergoing treatment in Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, according to District Police Office (DPO), Bara.

Police arrested the jeep driver, Promod Dev Mandal Amatya, 32, of Biratnagar Municipality-6 for investigation. DSP Binod Sharma of the DPO informed that investigation into the incident is underway.
