Two die in separate mishaps in Myagdi

MYAGDI, March 27: Two people died in separate incidents in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality of Myagdi. According to the District Police Office, Myagdi, a man died after falling off a cliff in Namruk of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-6, Marang, and another man was hit by a rolling boulder in Dharapani of Ward No. 7.

MYAGDI, March 27: Two people died in separate incidents in Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality of Myagdi. According to the District Police Office, Myagdi, a man died after falling off a cliff in Namruk of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-6, Marang, and another man was hit by a rolling boulder in Dharapani of Ward No. 7.


Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Kunwar said that the bodies of both the deceased were brought to Beni Hospital for examinations on Sunday night. Sang Bahadur Sunar, 52, of Jewang Tol, died on Sunday afternoon after falling off the road in Namruk while going from Ramche in Marang to Bul, the police said.

Lalu Thapa, 68, of Dharapani, who had gone to collect fodder in Patlapakha Bhir of Dharapani Community Forest, was hit by a stone set in motion by a bulldozer during road construction. He died on Saturday.


After he did not come home in the evening, local residents who had gone to look for Thapa found him dead on Saturday night and informed the police. The relatives of the deceased claim that Thapa, who had gone to collect fodder, was injured by a stone thrown by a bulldozer belonging to the construction company of the Darbang-Dharapani road project during the road expansion. Deputy Superintendent of Police Kunwar said that an investigation had been started based on the complaint registered by the relatives of the deceased and both bodies were kept at Beni Hospital for autopsy.
