Shrestha was on his way home from office when the motorcycle he was riding (Ba.11Pa.883) was hit by a car at the Baneswor-Tinkune road section on Saturday night.[break]
Shrestha who was seriously injured in the accident died while undergoing treatment at Global Hospital in Gwarko.
Meanwhile, Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), Channel Nepal Branch has expressed profound sorrow over the sudden demise of Shrestha.
The Branch has also demanded that the police administration immediately find the car and its driver, who escaped following the incident and make the details public.
The 36-year-old Shrestha was a resident of Balkot in Bhaktapur.
Hotel labor falls to death
CHITWAN: An elderly labour working for the Amrit Sweets Hotel at Hakim Chowk of Bharatpur-9, Chitwan died after she slipped in the hotel premises.
The elderly woman of around 68 years old and who identity is not known died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, the District Police Office said.
The elderly reportedly slipped as she was working at the hotel.
Assistant driver found dead
CHITWAN: Assistant to the the driver of a truck was found dead inside the truck in Piple of Chitwan.
The truck (Na.2Kha.8277) was heading towards Birgunj from Narayangarh. The assistant driver was found dead inside the truck as it was stopped for refueling at the Mahachandeswari Petrol Pump in Piple VDC-9, District Police Office said.
The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Arjun Magar of Piple VDC-7.
Driver of the truck, Binod BK of Ratnanagar-4 has been taken into custody for necessary investigation, police said.
Two dead in Thimi vehicle collision
BHAKTAPUR: Two people were killed in three vehicle collision at Madhyapur Thimi in Bhaktapur Sunday night.
The incident occurred after a Tata mobile (Ba 3 Cha 6152) going to Banepa from Gatthaghar and a motorbike (Ba 32 Pa 4459) coming from the opposite side collided head on and another motorbike (Ba 21 Pa 6261) coming from behind slammed into the four-wheeler.
Among the three injured in the accident, Suraj Shrestha and Niraj Shrestha of Kavre, who were traveling on the Ba 32 Pa 4459 bike died while undergoing treatment at Anamnagar-based Annapurna Hospital, according to the Thimi Metropolitan Police Circle.
The other injured returned home after receiving treatment. All the three vehicles were seized by police.
