Trucks carrying customs-evaded cashew and carom seeds under police control

JANAKPURDHAM, July 25: Police have taken control of two trucks along with goods worth around Rs 20 million which were imported by evading customs.


The trucks were taken under control at the Dry Port chowk, Birgunj Metropolitan City-25, on the suspicion of smuggling of goods from India by evading the customs duty.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Bharati said that cashew, carom seeds (Jwano) and electronic goods worth Rs 18.26 million were seized from the truck numbered (Na 5 Kha 2912) and (Na 3 Kha 7727).


According to DSP Bharati, both trucks along with goods have been sent to the Department of Revenue Investigation, Pathlaiya for further investigation.
